Work We Do in the City

Septic, Rental and Plumbing Work Across the Queen City

Terre Haute is the largest town we serve, and the calls here cover every part of our work. Homes on the city's outer edges and on county roads lean on septic tanks, while older neighborhoods closer to downtown call us for leaks, water lines and worn out water heaters.

A crew from Wabash Valley Septic and Drain brings 25 years of experience and yearly IOWPA training to every job in Vigo County. Here is where most Terre Haute work begins:

Life on the East Bank of the Wabash

Terre Haute sits on the east bank of the Wabash River and serves as the county seat of Vigo County. The river forms the city's western edge, and West Terre Haute lies just across the water, reached by US 150. Calls come to us from both sides of that bridge.

Locals know the corner of Seventh Street and Wabash Avenue as the Crossroads of America, where US 40 and US 41 once met. Today I-70 crosses the south side of the city and US 41 follows Third Street, so most of our trucks reach Terre Haute neighborhoods on those two roads.

A city this size mixes very different homes. Older houses near downtown sit on long service lines, while newer subdivisions and farmhouses at the edge of town often sit on private septic systems with their own maintenance needs.

Where Sewer Ends and Septic Begins in Vigo County

Not every Terre Haute address is on the city sewer. Once you leave the core of town on State Road 46 or State Road 63, homes spread out, lots get bigger and private septic systems become common. Many owners of those homes do not know where the tank lid is until something goes wrong, and by then the yard may be wet and the drains slow.

Indiana law asks the local health department to tell a septic permit applicant whether the property sits inside a regional sewage district's service area. That question matters on the fringe of a growing city, where one side of a road may be on sewer and the other side on septic.

We locate the tank, pump it, check the baffles and outlet, and explain what we see in plain words. If a repair looks like it needs county review, we tell you before any digging starts. For a home you are about to buy on the edge of town, a pumping and a look at the tank before closing can answer a lot of questions.

Portable Toilets for Campus Weekends, Parks and Job Sites

Rentals for City Events

Portable Toilets for Campus Weekends, Parks and Job Sites

Terre Haute is home to Indiana State University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and an Ivy Tech Community College campus. Game days, graduations and move-in weekends bring crowds, and a tailgate or a family gathering near campus often needs more restrooms than a house can offer.

Parks bring their own needs. Deming Park on the east side covers 177 acres with a public pool and a disc golf course, the kind of setting where reunions and club events gather. Our porta potty rental fleet includes standard units, ADA units and hand wash stations, with short-term rentals for events and long-term rentals for construction crews building across Vigo County. We drop the units, service them on a schedule that fits the crowd, and pick them up when the last guest leaves.

Other Towns We Reach From Terre Haute

Terre Haute sits at the center of the counties we serve, and our trucks fan out from here in every direction: south on US 41 toward Shelburn and Sullivan, east on I-70 toward Brazil, and north toward Clinton and Rockville. Plenty of Terre Haute families own a farm, a lake place or a parent's house in one of those towns. The same crew and the same standards follow us to each of them:

The rural roads between these towns are on our routes as well, along with the farms and lake homes tucked between them. Our Wabash Valley service areas overview shows the five counties we cover.

Questions Terre Haute Homeowners Ask Us

How can I tell if my Terre Haute home uses septic or city sewer?

Look at your water and sewer bill first: a sewer charge from the city usually means you are connected. Homes without that charge, especially on larger lots at the edge of town, usually have a septic tank. A buried lid, a vent pipe in the yard or a patch of greener grass can also point to a tank. We can locate it for you.

Do you serve West Terre Haute and homes across the river?

Yes. We serve West Terre Haute and the rural roads on the west side of the Wabash just as we serve the city itself. Many homes across the river sit on private septic systems, and the same pumping, repair and plumbing work applies there. Call (812) 564-0540 and tell us the road name so we can plan the visit.

Can you bring portable toilets to a Terre Haute park or campus event?

We deliver standard units, ADA units and hand wash stations for events across Terre Haute, including parks and gatherings near the college campuses. Check with the park or campus office about where units may be placed, then tell us the date, the guest count and the drop-off spot. We will suggest how many units fit the crowd.
